Core ICS Health Training for BC Indigenous Participants Only

Indigenous Core ICS Health Training focuses on health care issues for working with Indigenous people in British Columbia. The Indigenous Core ICS Health is specific to those Indigenous people who work in the health care field. The goal is to improve access to health services and health outcomes for Aboriginal people.
The training is designed for Indigenous health professionals working in PHSA, Regional Health Authorities, Ministry of Health and partner agencies. The curriculum is intended as introductory training and is supplemented by the Nation and region specific training provided by regional health authorities or Indigenous groups.
Learning is self-paced over an eight-week window and typically takes between eight-ten hours to complete, though this could be longer or shorter depending on your style of learning. There is no need to be logged in at specific times. The training is facilitated so you will interact with others in your group when you get to the discussion boards; and with the facilitator in the discussion boards and journal entries.
The on-line Core ICS Health program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited for up to 20 + credits, Mainpro-C type credits.
Core ICS Health - The University of British Columbia Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide study credits for continuing medical education for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been approved by UBC CPD for up to 10.0 MOC Section 3 Self-Assessment hours (credits are automatically calculated). Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.

- This training is available at no cost for Indigenous people who do not already work for a mental health organization that sponsors ICS seats in British Columbia.
- If you are a British Columbia Health Authority employee and an Indigenous person, please use your Health Authority e-mail address when registering ensure your seat is assigned to the correct health authority for tracking and statistical purposes . Please click here to register.
